Another dismal day out of a million dismal days of my mercurial life. I'm really sorry to my dear friends who have to put up with my incessant snapping and brooding...sorry guys. The weird thing was I had no idea why I was in such a cranky mood. I suppose it must be one of those things where all the little irritants summate resulting in a general feeling of unhappiness. Oh well, it's terribly difficult to describe - like feeling uneasy but being unable to pinpoint with much accuracy the cause of that uneasiness, because the feeling stems from a glance here, a look there, a carelessly dropped word, a deliberate action. Ah, you see I have been reading too much Agatha Christie. I love Poirot!

Might I just complain a little about this certain person in Medfac. You might describe him as well-known (I don't think there is anyone to whom his name is unfamiliar). I find him rather irritating, even though the fact is that I do not know him at all and I have never spoken to him before. Well, I don't think you actually need to know someone to find that person appalling, especially if you are yours truly, since I find most little things irksome (my list of pet peeves stretches to Hong Kong, I daresay). It's just this habit of his, of propping his feet against the chair in front of his (ahhh hint hint.. no more like bashing your head with a very obvious hammer). Which makes it very very very uncomfortable for the person sitting directly in front (guess who?).

Sometimes, I feel, one does not have to know another person to know something of the other person's character. And what this habit of propping his feet against another person's chair tells me is that either he nurses some hatred of poor dear old me (which may very well be true, mind you), or he lacks a certain consideration for the personal space and comfort of another person. If the latter is true, then I find it particularly sad. But then again, every person has their odd fault and flaw, and I am not going to place him in friendship purgatory just because of one pet peeve (I mean, if I disliked everyone who has habits I don't like then I would be rather lacking in the friends department), but it's just something for me to rant against. Maybe that's why I was feeling so horrible today - because someone was kicking me in the back the whole morning.

Not to mention Caroline Lee's dramatic show of the ills of modern technology at her lecture today, which only goes to show that to "really screw things up, you need a computer". But I shall not go into another lengthy exposition about how we have become far too dependent on technology in today's world - you can find much better arguments in your friendly daily newspaper or any decent GP essay. Might I just say, though, thank goodness for technical complications. Hahaha.

My entries are getting so short. I wonder sometimes why I strive to attain that particular minimum length when I could just be writing nonsense for all I know and everyone hates reading long blogs. I might say that it is just a little fancy of mine. After all, I find that to load someone's blog and just read a few sentences of unexciting events leaves something lacking. Not that my blog is anything near exciting in everyone else's point of view, but personally I find playing with language exciting. I get this little kick out of being melodramatic, writing with that certain cliched grandiloquence and silly flourishes that, I am sure, only serve to thoroughly annoy the sane. But my dear, you do see that the point of this blog is for my enjoyment, not yours?

Till next time, please, enjoy.
