CONSUMED. by avaris
Some men make fortunes, but not to enjoy them; for, consumed by avarice, they live to make fortunes

There is this rather mad craze lately (or maybe it started a really long time ago and as usual I only see something new when it takes a club and whacks me over the head with it) over online quizzes that purportedly reveal secrets about your personality, etcetera. And of course just doing them is hardly enough; one must share them with the world online, via the multi-purpose weblog. As if that will allow your friends to know you better, seriously. I think if your friends need these little things to know you better we might as well not talk to them but blog all day. I'm being very nasty, I know, but that is the way of fads and trends, to be bashed around by people with a practical view of the world.

Sometimes, though, I tend to be less practical than I make myself out to be. I am in all actuality a sentimental slob who likes watching Taiwanese soaps for nothing but a good lacrimal exercise. So I cannot help myself but do these silly little quizzes and then laugh and say "That's so silly, it can't be accurate." But truly, how well does one know oneself is a more thought-provoking problem. It could be that we are doing these quizzes in order to find out more about our own personalities, and that may very well be true. I know that I hardly understand myself sometimes. But then again there are so many of me I have a hard time trying to catch up.

Anyway, after much blahblahing the point of the blog is this: Some silly quiz results.

1. You are attracted to those who are elegant and well-mannered.

2. In the process of courtship, the approach that would make you
feel irresistable is patience, never give up on you.

3. The impression you would like to give to your lover is stylish.

4. You don't like it when your partner is emotional and/or too
moody; and you don't know how to please him/her.

5. The kind of relationship you would like to build with your
partner is one that you care not only about the present but
also the future with your partner, a long-lasting relationship
that you can grow with.

6. You can never be stabilized; actually, you are not suitable for
marriage and you don't want to make committment.

7. You think of marriage as a precious thing. Once you get married,
you'll treasure it and your partner very much.

8. At this moment, you think of love as a committment for both parties.

Quite silly really, considering there are quite a lot of apparent contradictions. I'm not saying anything is true, but some of the statements do make me nod my head and go "That's quite logical" if you see my point. All in all I think the major message in the intepretation is that I'm a person of many contradictions, which I already know very well, thank you.

Anyway, if you are interested in the quiz, here's the link. And thanks to the blogs from which I got the quizzes. The person probably doesn't know who I am haha.
