Three for Riza, Four for Roy a.k.a. FMA madness Vol.5
I was thinking of making the heading for this entry Three for a girl, four for a boy, but couldn't find anything in this empty head of mine to make an appropriate entry that contains a girl and a boy. I could always talk about BGR, but personally I think that is rather pointless considering that I have not had any experience of it. It is rather pretentious trying to rationalise something you have never experienced before. It is like trying to rationalise death, or something. Hmm not a good analogy there. But anyway, you get what I mean, in a general kind of way. Tonnes of people out there can write some short notes on BGR and make it sound several times more convincing and perceptive than anything I have to say.
You might have realised you just uncovered a large crate of sour grapes. Hah. Well, I would not deny that.
Reading progress is abysmally slow as always. I am happy covering a hundred pages every day, but that is not getting me anywhere far anytime soon. I wish I could spend less time in front of the computer; now I feel like one of those people in the Otherland i.e. plugged in continually.
Many other things to do! I am about to start on my FMA art projects, which I have the rather unsettling feeling will not be completed. After all, I have an uncompleted Gundam Wing art project - I only drew four Gundams, with three more to draw - and also an uncompleted CardCaptor Sakura art project - an uncompleted picture of the girls in kimonos. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to draw the intricate flower designs on kimonos? And I haven't even reached the colouring stage yet. Argh the horror. So anyway, I have found quite a few nice FMA pictures and thought of some concepts, so I will be starting this afternoon. Hopefully I haven't forgotten how to draw heh. I strongly suspect, though, that my set of colour pencils has been dismembered, no thanks to my my-table-is-a-dreadful-mess brother. Will have to be brave and enter his foul-smelling domain later in search for my colour pencils.
Yesterday I created a new screen saver for my handphone, of the alchemist's insignia. It seems that recently I have become obsessed with pixels, considering also the hours sitting in front of the computer putting pixels together on Microsoft Paint. Talk about micromanagement. The alchemist's insignia turned out ok, but it was a little short due to space constraints on the handphone screen, and a little disproportionate, with the crown and wings taking up a larger portion as the cross was shortened. I had no idea what to put beside the insignia, though, so it looks a little plain. Toyed with the idea of putting the words FullMetal Alchemist but thought that that would be considerable overkill. Thus I left it as it is =).
That makes the second potentially arcane symbol on my handphone that I'm using as screensavers. The other is the word Illuminati written in Gothic, a design I took off Dan Brown's book Angels and Demons. It is really quite a cool design since it reads the same right side up and upside down. Took me quite a while to make, too, what with all the pixel complexities.
I now have a FMA wallpaper too, but not a terribly exciting or beautiful one. All the FMA wallpapers are kind of boring, and I didn't want to pick on with Edward showing a lot of skin (which comprise some number, leading me to suspect that these wallpapers were created by people who like seeing Edward with his shirt off. Ugh). I liked this blue wallpaper with Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye at Maes Hughes' funeral, but it had the words "The Military's Dogs" at the side, which reminded me of something unpleasant, so I scrapped it in the end. What a waste. I really liked the picture.
