Languorous Sunday

My life is steadily becoming too boring to even think about, let alone blog for the world to see. What should I say?

I am thinking of increasing the value of my blog by adding more sections to it. After all, I have a Pacific Internet account to upload lots of files to, so I might as well make good use of that. But I cannot, for the life of me, come up with any good ideas as to what to add. And if all my pages were to have the same purple-and-pink format, I think people will have apopleptic fits. Still, it is an idea I am just toying with. Like most ideas I toy with, there is very little probability it will manifest itself. I suppose having a gallery is good enough added value at this point in time.

Even after many weeks of loving EMJEM, I still love EMJEM. I go back and read articles again simply because they are so incredibly clever and hilarious. A tonne of thanks to anodyne for introducing me to such a fun site. And the latest entry on EMJEM is really quite amusing, or at least I find it amusing. I seriously applaud S-- for being brave enough to write things like that. I would never write something like that, since for one, I have no wish to be hated by every minority group that reads this weblog, and also because I am simply not witty enough to make such comments any more than insults.

------------------

I have finished watching Last Exile. Such breathtaking excitement! And every time Aru does the Exile thing where she reads the complementary verses to the Mysterion, you can almost feel the air being charges with magic. All my arrector pili go crazy when she does that. The concept is so incredibly clever that the anime could have been so much longer, to expand on all those brilliant concepts. I have a few gripes regarding the ending, because so many strange things happen and so little explanation is given.

Most memorable scene in the anime: When Luciola turns to dust and Delphine flits around and says, "How beautiful, Luciola." Heartbreaking. Probably the biggest Kleenex moment in the anime. And that is when I really began to hate that horrible Delphine. What a bitch.

I find it strange that Alex Rou keeps reminding me of Severus Snape. The hair is the reason, most probably. But after seeing him a lot throughout the anime the resemblance disappears. I don't really like him, though. I somehow feel that the reason he has Sophia as his second-in-command is because she looks like Eurys, and that is really quite hateful.

For the first Sunday in many years, I woke up at nine to find there was no more Digimon on television. Ah well. Quite strange, how it has become a habit for me to wake up early every Sunday just to catch Digimon on Channel 8. And Channel 8 just starts showing the next Digimon series immediately after one ends, so for many years it has been a never-ending weekly dose of Digimon for me.

It really is incredibly silly when you think about it. Imagine watching 5 series of Digimon back to back over goodness-knows-how-many years. And it really isn't a spectacular anime to watch either. But then I suppose I like the standard plot advancements and just enjoy seeing how each series has its own unique mythology and digimon and everything. After a while, it does get pretty boring, though. So it's brainless television, just like almost everything else. But how can I complain, when it really is one of the more decently-dubbed anime series you can watch on television? English dubbing for Japanese anime is plain ghastly.

-----------------

I am eternally grateful to the Chew on it! comic strip in the Sunday Times which has put in drawing my endless irritation at the horribly ear-piercing commercials running at MRT stations. Finally, someone who bothers.

It has driven me to the point that whenever I see the commercial on television I have an apopleptic screaming fit and switch the channel immediately. Mom thinks I am over-reacting. Let her listen to it over and over again and see what she thinks of it.
