Go Figure

I am possibly living in this surreal place called Cloud Nine now because I bought the Gundam Seed character figurines I so wanted yesterday. It's possibly the first time I spent so much money on something and was so decisive about it and did not actually feel a tinge of guilt about it. I have no idea whether that is a good thing or not, because even though I am very happy about it, I wonder if it might be the prelude to something more serious. I think, though, that right now I'm still quite in control of my Gundam Seed craze.

So the figurines came in a nice special box of eight, with six normal and one special figurine from Gundam Seed, and one extra Kira. There's Athrun, Cagalli, Kira, Lacus, Yzak and Millialia (I still have no idea how to spell her name), and the bonus one is Yzak with no scar. I was pretty disappointed by that; I thought maybe it would be another Lacus in a different costume, because I'm not particularly fond of her costume in that concert hall scene with Athrun. But all six are characters I love, and the quality of the figurines (they're High Grade models!) are excellent, thus encouraging me to part with a stunning eighty dollars. There's another set of Gundam Seed Destiny figurines, but I don't think I'll buy that because it's only Athrun that I really want in that set, and Stellar, Meyrin and Lunamaria are not characters I particularly wish to have. I don't dislike them, it's just that I haven't seen enough of them to like them, yet.

While I was in the shop at Sunshine Plaza buying the figurines there was this guy who was asking about this other set of figurines, which I think is the Gundam Seed Heroines set 4 or something. It has 5 figurines: Lacus, Meer, a red-haired character whom I can't remember if it was Meyrin or Luna, Natarle and Aisha, and it costs a whopping 120 dollars because it's a limited edition set. I was going Wow if only I could get that too, because I love Lacus, Natarle and Aisha. But it's really too expensive. Another very amusing point was that the guy who was asking about it told the shopkeeper that the figurines he really wanted were the Lacus and Meer figurines, and the shopkeeper went, "I know, everyone wants those. I should sell them at a higher price." Heh.

I am thus currently the proud owner of seven exquisite figurines, and I can't study because I keep looking at them. I'm looking at them now, even as I type. Oh yes, I have an extra Kira figurine that came with the set, so if anyone out there is a Kira fan, drop me a line (email, comment, etc) and I'll give it to you. Um, yeah, if you're someone I know, or a friend of someone I know, that is. I don't know who reads my blog nowadays, besides my friends. If only I had a digital camera I would be happily taking photos and uploading them, but I don't, and possibly that's a good thing because at least I won't be wasting another day doing that.

Okay, on to other things that happened yesterday. I was in a holiday mood after CA because the next one isn't in five days or something (but yeah I'm still worried about them because Patho is possibly my weakest subject this year). So I went shopping with George, with plans to visit Sunshine plaza and check out the figurines by the end of the day. Hmm I don't think the details are terribly exciting, but I think my calcaneus collapsed after all that walking. We went from Orchard (Paragon-Tangs-Wheelock-Wisma-Takashimaya) to Suntec-Millenia and then finally to Sunshine Plaza. Traitor's Knot still hasn't come in to Borders. We met Jon Chia in Borders, and then he tagged along until he got too traumatised by George pulling us into boutiques. Then he fled. And oh, we went for the Russell Wong exhibition at the Art Museum too, which was in a way breathtaking. Photography is a wonderful form of art.

My juniors all did pretty well for their A Levels, and I'm very proud of them. Hopefully they'll all get into Med school and then I can see them in school! Well, not really, but I'd still see them once in a while. Like Liying says, A Level results day is so exciting.

I got a big shock when I opened my mailbox this morning and there a mail from Tun Tan in my inbox, as in the sender box said tun tan. Turns out it was only the Tun Tan gmail account that Jiabin set up for The Crooked Herald. What a shock that was. Did I ever talk about the time I wanted to send e-mail to Tun Tan and just typed out tch1dl2@yahoo.com without thinking about it? That was quite amusing.

Um, full of rubbish, that. I tried Tun Tan, and other variants, though, and it was pretty amusing. Have fun!

I'd better get down to studying Patho already. I thought we're only tested for Lymphatic System, Urinary System and onwards, right? Why are people studying CVS, Resp and GIT? Please don't scare me. Woe is me, already.
